　　I'd like to talk about choosing my university major, which was a really tough decision I made during my final year of high school about two years ago.

　　The people who helped me were my parents, my English teacher Mr. Liu, and my cousin who was studying at university. I was really confused between studying international business, which seemed practical, and English literature, which I genuinely loved but worried wouldn't lead to good job opportunities.

　　This decision process lasted about two months, from October to December. My parents kept pushing for business because they thought it was safer financially. But Mr. Liu encouraged me to follow my passion since I'd always excelled in his classes and enjoyed analyzing literature. My cousin gave me the most balanced perspective - she said I should consider what I could see myself doing every day for the next 40 years.

　　The turning point came when Mr. Liu arranged for me to attend a university literature seminar. Sitting in that lecture hall, discussing themes and ideas with other students, I felt genuinely excited about learning. My cousin then helped me research career paths for English majors, showing me it wasn't as limiting as I'd thought.

　　I finally chose English literature, and I felt both nervous and excited about it. Having different perspectives really helped me make a more informed choice. My parents were initially worried, but they've been supportive. Two years later, I'm really happy with my decision and doing well in my studies.
