　　1 Are you interested in growing vegetables and fruits?

　　Yeah, I'd love to but I'm rubbish at it! Tried growing tomatoes on my windowsill last summer - they all died within weeks. My nan's brilliant at it though, her garden's like a proper allotment. Maybe when I've got more space than just a tiny flat, I'll give it another go. For now, I just buy from Sainsbury's!

　　2 Is growing vegetables popular in your country?

　　It's getting more popular, especially since lockdown. Loads of people got into it when they had nothing else to do! Allotments have massive waiting lists now - my mate's been waiting two years for one. Even people with tiny gardens are growing potatoes in bags and herbs on windowsills. Very trendy now, isn't it?

　　3 Do many people grow vegetables in your city?

　　Not as many as you'd think, being London and all. Most of us live in flats with no gardens. But there are community gardens popping up everywhere, and some people guerrilla garden on roundabouts! My neighbour grows chilies on his balcony. The council's started urban farming projects too, which is quite cool actually.

　　4 Do you think it's easy to grow vegetables?

　　Depends what you're growing really. Herbs and salad leaves are dead easy - even I can manage those! But proper veg like carrots or courgettes? That's another story. You need decent soil, the right weather, and patience. Plus slugs eat everything! My attempts usually end in disaster, so I'd say it's harder than it looks.

　　5 Should schools teach students how to grow vegetables?

　　Absolutely! It's brilliant for kids - gets them outside, teaches them where food comes from. My nephew's primary school has a little vegetable patch and he loves it. Plus it might help with the obesity crisis if kids actually understood nutrition properly. Better than just sitting in classrooms all day, and they can eat what they grow!
