So, let's answer this straight away. If you use 'expensive' and 'price' together, people will know what you mean, but it sounds strange and is non-standard.

是的。简单来说，“expensive” 这个形容词本身的意思就指 “贵的，价格高昂的”，所以一般在英语中不需要再把它和 “price（价格）” 连用来表示 “这个价格很高”。因此，如果我们想用英语说 “一样东西的价格太高了”，直接说 “It's expensive” 就可以了。

Something a bit longer that would sound a little bit more natural is 'The price of that is so expensive', but it's still not standard and sounds a bit odd.

Buli
Well, we could say that, but why not look at some other useful expressions? 在想要形容一件商品的价格时，不妨试试下面我们将要分享的这些形容词。

There are other adjectives we can use with 'price' instead of 'expensive'. For example, 'high', 'steep' or 'exorbitant', which means really high.

并且这几个词通常都既可以作名词 “price” 的定语，也可以作它的表语。比如，我们可以说 “it's a high price” 或者 “that price is high”，表达的意思是一样的。一起来听两个例句。

Examples
These jeans are £200. That price is exorbitant. Who would pay that?
（这条牛仔裤卖二百英镑。这价格太离谱了，谁会为这条裤子花这个钱啊？） 

£3,000? That's a high price to pay for such an old car.
（三千英镑？这价格对这么一辆旧车来说太高了。）

Yes. So, for example, I would say 'that car is expensive' instead of 'the price of that car is expensive'.

我们还可以在连续的两个句子中分别使用 “expensive” 和 “price”，这样既符合这两个单词的习惯用法，也能起到解释说明或强调的作用。比如，我们可以说 “That car is expensive. The price is too high. 这辆车很贵。它的价格太高了。”

This house is so expensive. A million pounds! What a crazy price to pay for such a small place.

There are also adverbs we can use if we want to modify 'expensive'.

And if we think something is far too expensive, we could say it's 'ridiculously' expensive. Let's hear some examples.

Examples
Going abroad is enormously expensive. Can we really afford that?

£10 for a coffee? That's ridiculously expensive!
（一杯咖啡卖十英镑？这简直贵得离谱！）
