　　Well, personally, I think it's much better to give kids praise when they behave well rather than constantly pointing out their mistakes.The main reason is that when you praise a child for doing something well, it makes them feel good about themselves, which is never a bad thing. This kind of positive reinforcement would motivate kids to keep doing the right things. Let’s say if a kid is praised for taking out the trash, he would have more motivation to do more small jobs around the house like to do laundry or wash the dishes. On the other hand, if you keep criticizing kids’ bad behavior, it can really hurt their self- esteem. They might start feeling like they can't do anything right, and that's not good for their emotional well-being.

　　Reading: Paleoendemic Species(古特有物种)

　　定义：曾经在更广泛地理区域生活的物种 (The species that once lived over larger geographical areas in the past. )

　　Lecture：Biology(生物学)

　　例子：新西兰(New Zealand)的一种爬行动物。Kind of like a lizard, 但和现今世界上其他地方的 reptile 都不太一样。科学家在地球其他地方发现了 old bones that closely resemble this reptile。但为啥现在在新西兰呢? 因为 New Zealand 以前不是个岛屿，以前它也是一个 larger continent的一部分，几百万年前，continent 分裂成了几个小部分，所以 reptiles were stuck living on the islands of New Zealand. 其他地方的 reptiles 最终被 new predators on the mainland 吃掉了，但是因为 New Zealand 岛上没有这些 predators，反而reptiles were able to thrive until today。

　　Lecture 题材 ：History(历史学)

　　主题 : 2 effects of cars on the design of cities in the US(汽车对美国城市设 计的两种影响)

　　Effect 1: 汽车改变了美国城市的土地使用方式。随着汽车的使用，人们可以更轻松地在更远的距离之间旅行，土地使用变得更加专业化和分散。

　　例子：homes(住宅)

　　以前，住宅往往靠近商店和购物中心，但现在在许多城市中，住宅通常远离大多数商业区，商店几乎无法步行到达，必须开车才能到达。

　　Effect 2: 汽车还影响了美国城市建筑的设计。现在，许多建筑物在设计时会考虑到停车需求。

　　例子：houses(房屋)

　　过去城市的房屋通常紧密相连，房屋之间几乎没有空地，因为居民只需要房屋本身。然而，现在许多城市的房屋设计都有车库或其他停车设施，导致房屋之间的距离变大。
