  Get along - Get on with 与......和睦相处

  = to have a good / friendly relationship with someone.(get on is used more in Britain)

  与某人相处很好,get on通常用于英式英语

  • Even though there are six of them sharing the house, they all get on well with each other.

  • 尽管他们六个人住在一起,但他们相处很好。

  • He doesn't get along well with his mother-in-law. 他跟岳母关系不是很好。

  • Our new boss is very easy to get on with. 我们的新老板很好相处。

  Get away 离开/逃跑/度假

  1. = to go away from someone or something

  • Get away from me! 离我远点!

  • It was so busy that Francisca couldn't get away from the phone all day. Francisca很忙,一整天都在打电话。

  2. = to escape from someone who is chasing you.

  • They tried to get away from the police but they weren't quick enough. 他们试图摆脱警察的追捕,可以动作不够快。

  3. = to have a holiday.

  • We hope to get away for a couple of weeks around Christmas. 圣诞节我们想外出度假几周。

  Get down 使沮丧

  1. = to cause someone to be depressed.

  Get on 开始做/继续做

  1. = to put yourself on or in something 开始做某事

  • I get on the bus at 8am every morning. 我每天早晨8点坐上公交车。

  • We got on the train just before it left. 我们刚上火车,火车就开了。

  2. = to remind someone to do something; to continue 继续做某事

  • Your story is taking all day. Get on with it! 继续讲你的故事。

  Get over 恢复/克服

  1. = to recover from something or return to your usual state of health or happiness.

  • I thought he would never get over her illness. 我以为他不会从疾病中恢复过来。

  • He never got over the shock of losing his wife. 他不会从失去妻子的震惊中恢复过来。

  2. = to overcome or deal with or gain control of something.

  • She can't get over her shyness. 她克服不了羞怯。
