(Sending hugs to the world)”。
Imagine a pottery studio where the pieces are not just molded by hands but rather shaped by heartfelt hugs. This is the vision brought to life by Patrick Johnston, an artist whose 'Hugged & Loved' pottery series has sparked an emotional ripple on social media.
Johnston invites people into his studio to embrace raw clay, allowing couples, friends, and families to imprint their hugs into unique ceramic forms.
These vessels, once inert lumps of clay, come alive with the joyous and contented smiles of their creators. A physical touch becomes a conduit for the creation of a warm, tangible memory.
After the shape is set, Johnston adds the finishing touch by inscribing the creators' names, then takes the pieces for firing and glazing. It's a healing process for many, forever capturing the essence of their embraces and the love they represent.
