I think managers and leaders can encourage workers to work harder by motivating them personally and positively, offering them positive encouragement and praise when it’s due, as well as offering incentives. Of course, there should be some degree of ‘punishment’ for those that simply keep  producing poor standards of work, but generally speaking I think a good leader should try to foster a team-work atmosphere and manage people in a way that makes them feel instrinsically motivated, and not just ‘scared not to perform’ because they fear criticism or punishment. 

I’d say so, yes. Some people are really good at convincing others to do things, and they just have a way with people that is highly persuasive. Some people even take it to another level, and become excellent sales people because they know how to really persuade people to do things, through convincing and arguably manipulative reasoning. 

Parents frequently find themselves in situations when they need to convince their children to do things that they might not, at first, want to do. Some things like studies… going to school… duties and responsibilities like this that children initially find boring or challenging. Parents should find ways to try to persuade their children to do these things, according to the type of personality of their kids and how they respond to certain types of persuasion.
