Well, domestic travel is huge in China. Places like Sanya, Chengdu, and Yunnan are really popular because they offer beautiful scenery and great food without the hassle of going abroad. Coastal cities are always busy during summer too. That said, international travel has picked up a lot recently — Southeast Asia is a favorite because it's affordable and not too far. I think most people just want somewhere they can properly switch off and enjoy good food.

Honestly, young people these days are pretty adventurous. A lot of them go for trendy destinations they've seen on social media — like Chongqing for its unique architecture or Xinjiang for the landscapes. Internationally, Japan and Thailand are super popular because they're easy to get to and really affordable. I think young travelers care a lot about having Instagrammable experiences, you know? The destination almost needs to look good in photos to make the list these days.

Um, I'd say around one to two weeks is probably the sweet spot for most people. A few days feels too rushed — you barely settle in before it's time to leave. But anything longer than two weeks and people sometimes start missing home or feeling restless. I think seven to ten days gives you enough time to actually explore a place properly and come back feeling genuinely refreshed rather than exhausted from all the traveling itself.

Most people start by scrolling through social media or travel apps for inspiration, then move on to comparing flight prices and reading reviews. Group chats are huge for coordinating with friends — everyone throws in suggestions and you somehow reach a decision eventually. I think younger travelers tend to leave things a bit more flexible, while families with kids plan everything down to the last detail. Booking accommodation and transport early is pretty standard now though, especially during peak seasons.

I think some level of planning is definitely worth it, yeah. Booking flights and hotels early usually saves a lot of money, and it means you're not scrambling at the last minute. But over-planning can take the fun out of it too — sometimes the best moments happen when you just wander around without a schedule. So I'd say plan the basics, like transport and where you're staying, but leave enough room to be spontaneous. That balance tends to make for the best trips honestly.
