Hello, and thank you for asking me to your teachers' meeting to talk about the Dinosaur Museum and to tell you a bit about what you can do with your students there.

Well, let me give you some of the basic information first.

好的，首先让我来介绍一下博物馆的基本情况。

In regard to opening hours, we're open every day of the week from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm except on Mondays when we close at 1.30 pm.

先说说开放时间吧，我们周一到周天都开放。开馆时间是早上9点，周一下午一点半闭馆，除此之外场馆会在晚上八点关闭。

And, in fact the only day in the year when we're closed is on the 25th of December.

一年当中我们只有一天闭馆，那就是12月25日。

You can book a guided tour for your school group any time that we're open.

你们可以随时预订由导游带领的学校团体参观行程。

If you bring a school group to the museum, when you arrive we ask you to remain with your group in the car park.

我们建议学校参观团在到达之后在停车场稍候片刻。

One or more of the tour guides will welcome you there and brief you about what the tour will be about.

一到数名导游会来迎接你们，给你们简单介绍一下整个行程。

We do this there because our entrance is quite small and we really haven't got much room for briefing groups in the exhibition area.

这是因为场馆入口较小，而在展区我们也没有空间来给大家做集中的讲解。

As far as the amount of time you'll need goes, if you bring a school group you should plan on allowing a minimum of 90 minutes for the visit.

关于参观时间：如果您带了学校的团，整个行程至少需要90分钟。

This allows 15 minutes to get on and off the coach, 45 minutes for the guided tour and 30 minutes for after-tour activities.

其中15分钟组织上下车，45分钟参观时间，还有30分钟安排参观后的活动。

If you're going to have lunch at the museum you will, of course, have to allow more time.

如果需要在博物馆吃午饭，那就需要留出更多的时间。

There are two cafes in the museum, with seating for 80 people.

博物馆里有两个小餐馆，大概能坐下80人。

If you want to eat there you'll need to reserve some seating, as they can get quite crowded at lunch time.

如果你们打算在那儿吃饭的话得提前订座，那里午饭时间人挺多的。

Then outside the museum at the back there are tables, and students can bring their own lunch and eat it there in the open air.

博物馆的后面有一些桌子，学生可以自己带食物在户外进餐。

When the students come into the museum foyer we ask them to check in their backpacks with their books, lunch boxes, etc, at the cloakroom before they enter the museum proper.

学生进入大厅后要先去寄物处，我们需要检查他们的书包里的书和午餐盒以及其他物品，才能进入展区。

I'm afraid in the past we have had a few things gone missing after school visits so this is a strict rule.

因为之前一些学校参观后，展品曾经遗失，所以现在这个检查是必须的。

Also, some of the exhibits are fragile and we don't want them to be accidentally knocked.

另外，博物馆里面很多展品非常脆弱，我们也不希望它们被碰坏了。

But we do provide school students with handouts with questions and quizzes on them.

不过我们会给学生发一本手册，上面有一些问题和小测试。

There's so much that students can learn in the museum and it's fun for them to have something to do.

这样学生们在博物馆可以学到很多东西，同时学生也希望在里面有点事儿干。

Of course they'll need to bring something to write with for these.

当然了，他们自己得带笔来记录。

We do allow students to take photographs.

我们这里是允许拍照的。

For students who are doing projects it's useful to make some kind of visual record of what they see that they can add to their reports.

把看到的东西拍照记录下来对学生很有用，他们可以把照片加在课堂活动的报告里去。

And finally, they should not bring anything to eat into the museum, or drinks of any kind.

最后，携带食物或饮料不许带入博物馆。

There are also a few things the students can do after the tour.

参观结束后同学们可以参加一些活动。

In the theatrette on the ground floor there are continuous screenings of short documentaries about dinosaurs which they can see at any time.

一楼的小剧场里会循环放映关于恐龙的短纪录片，同学们可以随时进去观看。

We used to have an activity room with more interactive things like making models of dinosaurs and drawing and painting pictures, even hunting for dinosaur eggs, but unfortunately the room was damaged in a bad storm recently when water came in the roof, so that's closed at the moment.

以前我们还有一个活动室，人们在那儿可以参加很多有趣的活动，比如制作恐龙模型、画画，还有寻找找恐龙蛋的游戏等等。可惜因为上次的暴风雨，房间被破坏了，所以现在暂时关闭了。

But we do have an IT centre where students have access to CD ROMs with a range of dinosaur games.

不过我们还有一个计算机中心，里面的光盘里有很多恐龙游戏。

These games are a lot of fun, but they also teach the students about the lives of dinosaurs, how they found food, protected their habitat, survived threats, that kind of thing.

这些游戏不仅好玩，还能帮助同学们了解恐龙如何生活、如何寻找食物、保护领地以及如何面对威胁等等。

And ... I think that's all I have to tell you.
