　　1 Have you ever talked with someone you don't know in public places?

　　Yeah, quite often actually. Usually at bus stops when the bus is late - classic British small talk about the weather or complaining about transport. Last week I had a lovely chat with an elderly lady in Tesco about which biscuits are best for dunking. Random conversations like that can brighten your day really.

　　2 Do you wear headphones in public places?

　　Always on the tube - it's my way of avoiding eye contact and awkward conversations! But I don't wear them in shops or cafés, feels a bit rude. I do keep one ear free when walking though, for safety. My noise-cancelling ones are brilliant for blocking out that awful drill sound on the Underground.

　　3 Would you like to see more public places near where you live?

　　Definitely. We've only got one small park nearby and it's always packed. Would love a proper community centre or a decent library - ours closed down last year due to budget cuts. Even just more benches would be nice. Nowhere to sit and have a coffee outside except the busy high street.
