1. -ous :通常放在一个完整的单词后，... 的

例: victorious adj.胜利的

He returned to the United States with the aim of planning what was to be a victorious comeback.

他回到美国目的，是要计划胜利的复出。

2. -proof :防..的

例: bulletproof adj.防弹的

The museum kept the coin behind bulletproof glass. But, thieves managed to break the case.

博物馆将金币放置于防弹玻璃内。但窃贼打开了保护装置。

3. -ress :物品

例: mattress n.床垫;褥子

With dificulty he released the mattress from the metal frame, and groped beneath it.
