It is argued that individuals in the contemporary world enjoy a higher standard of living than their ancestors. Personally, I totally agree with this statement because modern technologies make people’s everyday living easier, and their increasing disposable income allows them to travel and participate in art activities. 

The primary reason supporting my stance is that people find it convenient to lead their lives using various technological devices. There is no need for working adults to do chores after an exhausting day as robot vacuums and dishwashing machines can take the responsibility. Mobile applications assist people to not only order food from local restaurants, which can be delivered in around half an hour, but also to purchase various other goods from all over the world. However, these could not be achieved hundreds of years ago. 

Another important point I consider relevant is that the public can allocate a proportion of their income to travel and take part in art-related events. In the past, people struggled for survival; they could only afford basic necessities despite having long working hours. In contrast, people now are paid fairly and well, which enables them to visit tourist attractions nationwide as well as worldwide to experience diverse cultures, and to frequently involve themselves in concerts and art exhibitions, facilitating their art appreciation skills. 

In conclusion, I strongly believe that people’s quality of life nowadays is far more superior than that in the past. For one thing, advanced technological equipment helps them to deal with different tasks in life; for another, they are able to set aside sufficient money for a wide range of recreational activities apart from basic needs.
