1.Get bigger fish to fry

和下厨房一点关系都没有，实际上他的意思是说他有更要紧的事情需要处理。

举个例子:I know you’re upset that we’re not going away on

holiday this year, but we’ve got bigger fish to fry - I think I' m going to lose my job.

2.A hot potato

表示烫手山芋，棘手的问题。

You should adopt another solution to deal with this hot potato.

3.Lend meyour ear

请听我说的意思啦

Could you lend meyour ear for a minute? I need to talk with youabout something.

4.Jump out of one's skin

当你说一个人jump out of one's skin,那可能有两种意思:也许是表示他极度惊讶，也可能是说他给吓得魂不附体了。

9.Cost an arm and a leg

就是价格极其昂贵的意思

I love that fur coat.However, I don’t thinkl’mgoing to buy it

because it costs an arm and a leg.

10.Bob’s your uncle

lt means sth will happen very quickly and simply.表示“什么都对;万事大吉”。比如教朋友做菜时你可以说?Add some salt and Bob is your uncle.(加点盐就都OK啦)。

11. Break a leg

绝对不是“把腿打断”噢,是“祝你演出成功”的意思～随着时间的推移,它的语义范围逐渐扩大，除了演出,也可用于祝福某人试镜/考试/面试成功,相当于“good luck”如:Break a leg in yourtest today.(祝你今天考试顺利)
