【参考范文】
It is argued that the availability of foods and drinks believed to be detrimental to individuals' health by scientists ought to be prohibited in shops. Personally, I totally disagree with this because negative influences will be exerted on relevant businesses and a proper amount of such food or drink will not cause damage to peoples' wellbeing.
The primary reason supporting my stance is that shop owners will bear great losses if unhealthy food or drink is banned. Although eating deep fried foods which are high in fat, such as chips and hamburgers, may cause obesity and cardiovascular diseases, they are still popular among the public, which brings sellers massive economic benefits. If selling such food is not allowed, there will be a considerable fall in the profits of businesses and even worse, speciality shops may go bankrupt. Similarly, bubble tea stores specialising in sugary drinks may also suffer economically.
Another important point I consider relevant is that people's health will not be adversely impacted if they do not consume an excessive amount. It is universally acknowledged that the human body is an advanced mechanism, with the ability to effectively process a certain amount of what people eat or drink, be it healthy or not. In other words, if people are exposed to junk food or alcohol just once a week, obviously there will be no adverse long-term harm to their health. Therefore, banning the so-called unhealthy food or drink seems unnecessary.
In conclusion, I strongly disapprove of banning the sales of food and drink that have been proved scientifically to damage people's health. After all, shops will experience financial crisis and the consumption of such food and drink within reasonable amounts will not place people's health at risk. Thus, the government should raise the public's awareness of keeping themselves fit, persuading them to control their frequency of consuming unhealthy food and drink rather than imposing a ban directly.
