　　这类题目中数字并不是直接念出来，而是通过一些比较巧妙的方法给出。

　　例1 剑4 Test 3 Q5

　　Sara requires a

　　A single room

　　B twin room

　　C triple room

　　实际做题：原文：Can I share a room with someone else? I’ve been alone in my room at my aunt’s and I’ve always shared with my sister and I like that.

　　解题：虽然并没有直接出现数字，但是通过与另外一个人分享一个房间的方式反映出Sara需要的是一个双人间，故答案为B。

　　例2 剑4 Test 3 Q13

　　How many circuses are there in the festival?

　　A one

　　B two

　　C several

　　实际做题：原文：I am going to talk about two circus performances, but there are plenty of others in the programme.

　　解题：通过plenty of others 与several 形成同义转换，答案为C.

　　例3 剑4 Test 3 Q22

　　The Study for Success seminar lasts for

　　A one day

　　B two days

　　C three days

　　实际做题：原文：There’s our intensive study for success seminar on the first and second of February.

　　解题：通过二月的第一和第二天不难看出答案是两天。

　　例4 剑5 Test 3 Q18

　　Students wishing to live off-campus should apply

　　A several months in advance

　　B two or three weeks in advance

　　C at the beginning of term

　　实际做题：原文：If you are starting in October you need to be thinking about it in June or at the very latest July.

　　解题：如果想在十月份实行的话，六月或最晚七月就要考虑了。意思上与A. 提前几个月一致，故答案为A.

　　其实在雅思中还存在一些间接表达数字的方法，例如couple, fortnight等。熟悉了这些间接和直接的表达数字的特点后，我相信选择题中的数字考点也就一目了然了。
