　　Of all the practical skills that are useful in the modern world I would say time management is oneof the most important. Therefore it is alarming that it is neglected in the curriculum of most stateschools in China and abroad. As I can recall, I first came across the concept of time managementwhen I first entered university. It’s true that schools are good at giving deadlines, but they don’treally tell the students how to arrange their time wisely or how to create an effective work lifebalance. That is why I chose to learn time management. You know, a bunch of (一大堆) studentsend up impairing their health(损害健康) by studying too hard with consequences such as short?sightedness. On the other end of the spectrum you get students who play too hard and forgetabout their assignments altogether. These all indicate that students in general are not capable ofmanaging their time wisely. From my understanding, I think although it is sometimes tricky(困难) tomaster the skill of time management, there are two ways that are available to help us improve it.To start with, I believe that if we can manage to classify and categorize(分类) the things we needto do, we can better understand which ones are the most urgent and we can arrange our timeaccordingly. This process of prioritization will give us a focus. Similarly, we can always set upsome goals and deadlines for the works that we are scheduled to(计划去做) do. By doing so, wecan keep tabs on our deadlines and thereby ensure we meet them.
