　　Something fun that I do with my family every year is playing poker on Chinese New Year’s Eve.Yeah, one of the traditions for Chinese New Year is to stay up on New Year’s Eve. It’s said thatthe later you can stay up, the more likely your New Year resolutions(新年愿望) are gonna turn real!My family totally buy this tale(我家人对此深信不疑)! That’s why we can stay up all night for thepoker game! The poker game that we play has really simple rules. Whoever loses the game isresponsible for the house cleaning during the New Year holiday. And the winner will get the redenvelope with the bonus in it! The bonus is often a few hundred notes. So when I was younger, Itreated this poker game dead seriously. My eyes were on the bonus! Imagine all the toys I couldbuy with that money! So I used to think hard about the poker techniques. Yeah, well, now I lookback at it, it’s quite a bit of mind-effort(脑力劳动) that I put in there! I did win a few times! Thefunny thing is though, my father is always the one that loses the game! Well, he is normally a goodplayer, but something always goes wrong in the New Year’s game. In fact, I believe he loses thegame on purpose(故意地). So he can clean the house, while the rest of us get to enjoy the holiday.I think this year when we play, I’m gonna lose the game. So my father can enjoy a holiday too!
