想获得的奖
1. What rewards can children get from school?
From my perspective, the rewards from school should be beneficial to study and be of good use. To be more specific, small gifts as stationeries and notebooks, bigger ones as USB flash drive, schoolbags and e-dictionary can be identified with gifts to children. Moreover, there are some more creative options. For example, “free of homework for one day guaranteed by teacher” can also be regarded as a gift, which will please children for sure.
2. Should parents push their children to get prizes?
Although prizes encourage children to perform better and follow teacher’s word, I don’t think it’s proper for parents to force their children. Prize is just an extra award instead of a must. Looking upward is to learn more but not build a trend of upward comparison, which can be punishing and leading to self-worth undermine. Let alone sometimes it is parents that are eager to catch up with the Joneses.
3. Is it good for children to compete for prizes at school?
Well, there are always two sides. Prize motivates children to learn harder and get higher grades. Under this circumstance, it creates a pattern of benign competition in school. While on the other hand, prize can also stimulate one’s desire to win, which might cause extreme behaviors and ideas. The point is to tell children that they should compete with themselves for prize but not with each other.
4. What kinds of rewards can companies offer to their outstanding employees?
Well, the rewards from company symbolizes the recognition and appreciation of the employee’s contribution in the past, which as a result should indicate the sincerity. Learning materials like Kindle and iPad Pros, health investment gifts as gym or yoga cards can be good options. But to tell the truth, if there happen to be year-end reward, red pocket with cash gift in it would be the best choice.
