　　In many countries, people tend to have babies at a much older age, compared with the generations of their parents and grandparents. I believe the economic status and modern lifestyles are responsible for this.

　　As a result of social progress, the cost of raising a child has increased significantly. Young people, particularly those who live in big cities, often live under high pressure, having to pay the high rent and various kinds of bills. Considering this, they constantly postpone their plans of having babies till they think they are financially prepared. Another factor is that families do not have as many children as they did a few decades ago. Therefore, it is easy to understand why many couples do not give birth to children at an early age.

　　For some countries with too large populations; this trend leads to the decrease of population and eases the pressure on public resources. Therefore, it is encouraged by the government. For young people themselves, they have more time to pursue higher career development in their young adulthood,with less distraction from household chores when they decide to have babies, they would be in a better economic condition.

　　There are, however, some disadvantages to thiS trend. In some countries, the expansion of aged population has become a big concern of society, causing the decline of working population. In addition, as the age of pregnancy increases, the risk of delivering babies goes up, and this factor should be considered by young people.
