    考研英语阅读篇章：世界最快嘴巴每秒直飚11个单词

　　The world's fastest-talking woman has been filmed reading a version of the Three Little Pigs in just 13 seconds.

　　视频中，世界上讲话最快的女人仅用13秒时间就讲完了《三只小猪》的故事。

　　Fran Capo, 54, from Putnam County, New York, is seen energetically reciting the children's story at high-speed, barely stopping for air.

　　54岁的弗兰·卡波来自纽约上州普特南郡。视频中可以看到，她用超高语速一口气背完了儿童故事，除了喘气之外几乎毫无停顿。

　　Most of the words are inaudible as she races through them. After her speedy rendition, the mother-of-one explains that she started speaking quickly as a child and decided to turn her quirky talent into a career.

　　她说话的大部分单词都很难听出具体是什么，神语速讲完故事之后，她解释说自己很小的时候讲话就特别快，她决定把自己这一特异功能好好利用起来发展事业。另外，她还是一个孩子的妈妈。

　　'I didn't say one day I'm going to grow up and be a fast talker. I mean, because I went to college and I was in an accounting and philosophy major.'

　　“我从来没有说过长大后我将成为一个语速超快的人，因为我上大学学习了会计学和哲学。”

　　After landing a spot in the The Guinness Book of World Records in 1986, Ms Capo quickly attracted voiceover work for film and television.

　　She also went on to land jobs as a stand-up comic, motivational speaker and is the author of 11 books covering topics including crime, history, travel and spirituality.

　　Her personal best speaking time is 603.32 words in 54.2 seconds or 11 words in a second. At the time she was reading from a 17th century British text.

　　她最快的语速是54.2秒讲603.32个单词，或者说是每秒11个单词。她以这一最快语速朗读了一本17世纪的英国课本。

　　In the new interview of her speaking, Ms Capo is also captured making a speedy food order at a deli. The server looks flummoxed as she reels off ingredients, with them all blending into one.

　　在她神语速讲话的最新视频中，卡波女士正在一家熟食店点单。她一口气飙出了所有食物名称，这些单词混在一起完全听不出是什么，服务生一头雾水。

　　She says studies have shown how her brain works differently to most people, causing her to 'chunk' words together.

　　她说，有研究表明她的大脑和别人的不一样，才导致她语速飞快、单词都混在一起辨认不出。

　　'Once I have it in my brain, literally it's just like taking it from my brain and getting it out,' she said of her natural vocal ability.

　　Along with being recognized the Guinness Book of World Records, Ms Capo also appears in Ripley’s Believe it or Not - Planet Eccentric book, and in the Book of Alternative Records.

　　卡波女士不仅被吉尼斯世界纪录收录在册，还出现在普利娱乐公司出品的《信不信由你》节目、以及图书《另类纪录》中。
